Este ensaio teórico teve por objetivo investigar a internacionalização de empresas como um processo conduzido e catalisado pelo indivíduo empreendedor. Nessa direção, o interesse de aprofundar o tema de empreendedorismo internacional (EI) surgiu. Contudo, ao se voltar os olhos aos estudos de EI, o nível de análise que se apresenta é o da firma, que se internacionaliza. Dessa forma, o ensaio se alicerça em apresentar a internacionalização de empresas como um processo conduzido e catalisado pelo indivíduo empreendedor. A sua relevância consiste em: (1) defender que o entendimento da estratégia é um processo empreendedor; e (2) revisar as abordagens teóricas de EI. Com isso, observou-se a inexistência de trabalhos que categorizem os estudos de internacionalização sob a perspectiva das teorias do empreendedorismo. A fim de se alcançar o objetivo proposto, uma revisão sobre dois temas principais de estudo foi realizada.
THE ENTREPRENEUR AND THE INTERNATIONALIZATION’S PROCESS OF ENTERPRISES: A vision for entrepreneurial performance beyond national borders
ABSTRACT
This theoretical paper aims to investigate the internationalization of firms as a process driven and catalyzed by the individual entrepreneur. In this sense, we became interested in developing the theme of international entrepreneurship. However, when he turned his eyes to the EI studies, the level of analysis presented is over the firm's internationalization. Thus, this paper is grounded in presenting the firms’ internationalization as a process driven and catalyzed by the individual entrepreneur. Its relevance is due to: (1) arguments that strategy is an understanding of the entrepreneurial process, and (2) review the theoretical EI’s approaches. In this way of thought, we made a remark about a lack of studies that categorizing internationalization process from the perspective of entrepreneurship theories. In order to achieve the proposed objective, a review on two major theoretical branches was made.
